  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the swirl ingredients: cinnamon and sugar; set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cream softened butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Add egg, milk, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil; mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan; sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Add remaining batter and top with remaining cinnamon sugar.
  7. Use a knife to gently swirl through the batter for marbling.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
